I am Dr. Twan Weaver, and as an Epidemiologist who currently works for a reputable Biopharmaceutical company in the RTP, I have over 24 years of experience in clinical research, with expertise ranging from flow cytometry to cell-based and plate-based assays. I earned a BS in Biology/ Pre-Med degree from Elizabeth City State University and an MPH and PhD in Public Health from Walden University. I have over 15 years of experience collecting blood from human patients for research in flow cytometry for some of the most prominent organizations, corporations, and universities in Durham, NC. Lastly, I am CPR-certified (Basic Life Support) and National Health Association (NHA) certified in phlebotomy.

Blood specimen collection is important as the need for research, clinical, and regulated work is rising. There is a greater demand since whole blood can be used for laboratory testing, diagnostic procedures, cell cultures, and Peripheral Blood Mononuclear (PBMC) banking. The desire for skilled phlebotomists is equivalent as the requirement for whole blood increases to perform these tests and procedures.
